Women’s Aid Federation
Northern Ireland have recently published
a new booklet entitled 'Domestic Violence Can Seriously damage your
Health - Information and Guidance for Health Professionals' This
booklet was published as a result of a recent study carried out by Women’s Aid Federation
Northern Ireland
on women's experiences with health professionals. The document will
soon be available online.
One of the recommendations for the study was that Women’s Aid Federation
Northern Ireland
needed to improve upon the availability of their publications for women
accessing health services. As a result, we have just completed a
mail out to over 850 healthcare professionals including;
- GP Surgeries
- Dentist Surgeries
- A& E Hospital Departments
- Genito-Urinary Clinics
- Ante-Natal Clinics
- Family Planning Clinics
The mail out contained the new health booklet, helpline
cards, training information, a multilingual poster and the new health
poster.
